Visit to the Port Authority

On the 21st and the 22nd of September, the masters in Maritime and Transport Law and Commercial and Company Law visited the beautiful site of the Rotterdam Port Authority. With the view over the Rotterdam skyline, we received coffee and got a warm welcome by the Legal department of the Rotterdam Port Authority. The next speaker was Mr. van Keulen, who gave an extensive presentation about all the movements which take place at the port on a daily basis. Furthermore, he elaborated on the ever changing trade circumstances and how Europe’s biggest port is constantly adapting to ensure their competitive position. For students who spend most of their time on academic research, the visualization and insight in the practical aspects of the trade and the operation of the port provided a valuable lesson. After the break, our very own Emily Dérogée gave a passionate presentation named “The sting is in the tail” and underlined the importance of a solid jurisdiction clause. TTLA Presentation

“Who we are and what we do”  Rotterdam Port Authority On Wednesday the 21st and Thursday of 22nd of October 2015, students from Erasmus University will be visiting the Rotterdam Port Authority. During the workshop, our mentor Emily Dérogée-van Rosmalen will give an interactive presentation on the importance of the jurisdiction clause: “The sting is in the tail”. The board members will be there to present the goals of Trade & Transport Law Association . This date is an exceptional opportunity for the students to understand “who we are and what we do”. Furthermore, students are strongly encouraged to fill in our survey (will be given printed during the Coffee Break) concerning their business interests. It is important for us to understand your needs and create business opportunities based on your interests.
